Can Anyone Learn How To Sing?

Can anyone learn how to sing?

I mean, if you are tone deaf, and cannot even hold a note, can you turn this around and develop a good singing voice?

While many people would say “no”, I have a more optimistic view. I say…

Pretty much anyone can learn to sing.

At least to a decent standard.

Singing is just a skill. Like anything else, it’s a skill that you can learn.

Let me tell you something that may surprise you.

Most singers sounded terrible when they first began.

Here's a very short video that explains why.

That’s right. Many of those rare voices that you here on your favorite CD’s could not hold a note when they first began.

Of course there are some singers who are just naturally gifted and sounded amazing from the first time they opened their mouth…

But this is the exception more than the rule.

Would you like to know why I am so convinced of this?

The answer is: I was a absolutely terrible singer when I first began. My father used to say that I sounded like more a wounded animal than a singer!

But I persisted. I put in the time and effort to learn the skill. And now people hear me and think that I’ve been singing this way my whole life.

So can anyone learn how to sing?

You bet!

And in a moment I’m going to tell you another story that highlights this point even further.

But first, let’s look at what it takes to learn to sing well.

Here’s the most important ingredient.

Good vocal training!

Here's a video about learning how to sing correctly you might find useful.

Just like when learning any other skill, the way you train is a very important aspect.

You need the training that gets the best results and in the fastest time possible.

And if you are learning to sing for the first time, you need to be very wary!

One of the reasons that it took me so long to learn how to sing, is I was receiving incorrect instructions from my vocal teachers.

Sound weird? I agree… But the fact is there is a big difference in the standard of vocal instructors.

Hang in there though, because in a second I'll share with you how to overcome this problem.

First though, here's a true story about how I proved beyond doubt that anyone can sing if they really want to.
