Are you asking the question how can I sing better?
If so, there is one thing that will improve your singing voice more than just about anything else.
What is it?
Well, the biggest thing that will hinder your singing is your swallowing muscles.
They are the reason you may struggle to hit your high notes. They are the reason your tone quality may not be as good as it could be. And they are the reason you may get tired and sore when you sing.
So if you can remove the swallowing muscles from your singing process, everything improves.
How can you do this?
Watch this video below from expert vocal coach Roger Burnley. Roger has been teaching the voice for over 20 years, and has been responsible for helping superstars such as Macy Gray and Brandy shape their voices.
You’ll notice in this video that one of the biggest problems singers have, is they block off their air supply. This causes the swallowing muscles to try and “help out” to create the sound.
Unfortunately this just causes vocal strain and a lot of other vocal problems.
So the trick is to be able to sing without cutting off your air supply.
In doing so you will “unblock” your voice and be able to sing with much more freedom, better tone quality, and more vocal range.
If you watched the video above in it’s entirety you would have picked up an absolutely golden singing tip.
This tip is to never sing “up” to a note. When you’re going for a higher note you must always think that you’re singing down into it.
If you do this your swallowing muscles will be more likely to not interfere in the singing process and you will be singing much more correctly.
One of the best things you can do is take out a song you’re working on and practice this technique.
Every high note you approach practice singing down into the note. You’ll be amazed at the difference!
All of a sudden singing high notes wont be a big deal anymore.
And you’ll approach your high notes with tremendous confidence.
Be sure to practice this! It will be well worth your while.
