How to sing more beautifully and reach notes higher than C6?

Hi here! I am a student who had never sang before until I have found a SLS certified teacher in Singapore.

I can sing from a range of the low E3 to C#6.I have been learning from this teacher for more than 9 months but not more than 11 months.My voice is very fine but I lack the beautiful quality in my emotion to fill the voice and sometimes I have problem reaching my C6.

If I want to build a wider range at the top and bottom,what must I do to keep the larynx stable?

My teacher says to keep doing the dodgy sound that sound a bit ugly.
