Increasing Your Vocal Range

One of the most exciting parts of singing is hitting those thrilling high notes that sends audiences into thunderous applause!

To do this though, you must have a good correct foundation built through effective singing lessons curriculum.

If you don’t have some things in place, you’ll end up yelling your high notes, or hitting them in falsetto (falsetto is a very light, airy sound with little power).

At this point you can do exercises like the “lip roll”, which will get your voice hitting those high notes correctly.

What actually has to happen here, is when you sing higher, your vocal cords form new coordination’s.

They actually “zip up” like zipping up a pair of jeans so there is less of that cord vibrating to form the sound.

Because a smaller length of vocal cord is vibrating, they are able to vibrate faster, which produces a higher note.

Now, it can sound a little complicated talking about it in a document like this, but in actual fact it’s quite simple!

All you need to do is practice singing exercises that will get your vocal cords making these changes automatically.

When you do this you’ll know what it feels like to sing up through your range in a correct manner. You’ll then begin to build a new habit, and you’ll be able to hit your high notes correctly, and easily.
