The problem with grace notes

I used to love singing John Mayer songs. The only problem was, I couldn't (and still can't) hit the grace notes without being about a quarter tone too high or low. It apparently wasn't noticeable, but I could tell, and afterwards, I would sing less confidently, deducting from the whole performance. How do I get the grace notes right?
